Arizona Bail Reform
Arizona bail reform laws went into affect on April 3, 2017. One of the main precepts of the bail reform is to provide everyone the same opportunity to post bail – rich and poor alike. In many instances, inmates will be released on their own recognizance, but across the board bail amounts should be much lower than before. Those that are considered a danger to the community will not be given a bond.
“Bonds posted with cash collateral, or charged on a credit card will receive the entire bail amount refunded…”
Collateral Required on Bonds
Collateral is property (cash, vehicles, jewelry, real estate) that acts as security on a bond. Collateral serves as your personal guarantee that you have the ability to cover any loss we may have. Collateral is required in Yavapai County, no bond will be posted without it. Bonds posted with cash collateral, or charged on a credit card will receive the entire bail amount refunded upon exoneration and return of bond. Bonds posted using collateral property will receive their property back upon bond exoneration.
Use Cash, Credit Card, or Bank Deposit on Small Bonds
Yavapai County Bail Bonds does not take collateral property on small bonds under $10,000. Any bond under $10,000 will require the full bail amount and premium fee to be paid via credit card, cash deposit, or wired funds. When the case is over and the bond has been exonerated and returned to us, you will receive your bail amount back. Premium fees are non-refundable, but the bail amount will be returned to you. When bonds are larger than $10,000 we can accept real estate, cash, or credit card for collateral. Once the bond has been exonerated you will receive a full refund of your bail amount, or a lien release on your real property.
